C-NOTES

Just in case you didn't know, we make some pretty special gifts, favors and more at The MRM Collection. I love when a client gives us few details to go on like it's a black & white affair and then, they leave the rest up to us.

The Memory Maker, Chenire Carter, celebrated big as she asked her guests to bring her C-Notes -- as in special notes sending her warm wishes that she can cherish for a lifetime. She's so clever that way! I ran with the C-Notes theme and created these paper bow toppers with c-notes, rhinestones and pearls. She was so tickled at the site of these beauties and, I believe a wonderful memory was made. - MRM

PHONY PONY

Exploring different hairstyles and 'trying them on for size' is such a great way to change up your look. And, I do mean trying them on. Ha! For example, an extended ponytail can turn a little one into an extraordinary mane of wonder. There are a few tricks to making them look more natural and blend better with your hair, though.

TIPS: 1. Find a texture that is similar to your own. 2. If it is a drawstring ponytail, shake it out and beat it if you have to... Don't just wear it straight from the packaging. 3. Place it in different spots on your head to find your look. (top, center, nape..) >>

CLOSET GLORY

Oh, It's a happy day when your closet is organized and all spiffy. It may feel like a dreadful task for those who lean more toward sleeping with the clothes piled up on the bed or keeping them in the basket for a week, or two, after being laundered. But, I am telling you, your daily life will be so much easier if you just PUT THE CLOTHES AWAY. Just do it.

TIP: Use cloth or wooden hangers (if your fancy), hang items in sequence, fold pieces neatly and organize by style and even color. Pack away items that are out of season if you have too many clothes. Yes, I'm talking to you. Display shoes in order by type and color. If you have a walk in, add some decor to chic-it-up. >>

CRAFT MAN SHIP

Now, I'm not really a sweets kind of person but, give me some bacon with a side of bacon and WE ARE GOOD. Just jokes about the bacon...maybe. Anywho, it's a good idea to have something sweet after a great meal or even in place of one if you're in that kind of mood. If you're hosting a party and want to get a little fancy, try making some chocolate dipped cookies. I always see macaroons in pics at chic parties but, they can be pricey and possibly hard to find in some areas.

TIP: Get some cookies, a variety of chocolate melts from your local market & put on your creative hat. Use a spoon to make designs & add some edible sprinkles for extra pizzazz. - MRM >>

LET BYGONES BE BYGONES

I'm talking about the fabulously chic rooftop restaurant, The Bygone, at the Four Seasons in Harbor East, MD...of course. Ascend to one of the most beautiful views in Baltimore, have a cocktail on the balcony while gazing at the harbor and just sit back and take it all in. I've been obsessed with Harbor East for many years and it continues to expand with new condos, restaurants and shops popping up often.

FRUGAL TIP: If you want to enjoy a fancy evening out without breaking the bank, grab a bite at home before heading out, give yourself enough time to find street parking and check out the menu online before you start your night. Cheers! - MRM >>
